Denali Partners targets $1-5 million investments in businesses that need capital for growth, expansion or buyouts. We will also consider investments up to $50 million by involving other co-investors or partners. Denali invests in a wide range of opportunities, including:
· Small enterprises with scalable concepts · Corporate spin-offs of profit-capable, non-core divisions · Joint venture opportunities · Industry consolidation initiatives
Denali provides a combination of human and financial resources in exchange for an ownership position in the portfolio businesses in which it invests. Denali strives to be deeply involved in the companies in which it invests. This involvement will be multifaceted and will involve institutionalizing certain processes and business disciplines within the portfolio companies. These are three core processes we feel are important to long term success and that we will focus on with our portfolio companies:
Strategy Development Process
Financial Planning Process
Human Resources Development Process
The fund expects to focus the majority of its attention and invested capital on four primary areas that are characterized as having good long-term fundamental growth trends. Those include:
Issues of aging
Issues of obesity
Alternative energy
Labor productivity
The balance of the Fund’s attention will be spent opportunistically.
